Cross-session memory
Cross-session memory is what an AI agent keeps from one conversation to the next. Harny keeps it per user, so a new session recalls the same person's earlier facts.
What cross-session memory is
An agent without memory starts each conversation blank. Cross-session memory stores facts from past sessions and makes them available when a new session begins.
The stored facts are tied to a person or a context, so the agent can answer with what that person already said.
Why it is hard
- Facts change over time, so old values must be replaced or dated.
- Stored memory must stay separate for each person.
- Recall must return the right facts without flooding the model's context.
How it works in Harny
- Harny keeps each person's memory separately, per user.
- A new session recalls the same person's earlier facts through the Memory API.
Does the end user need a Harny account?
No. The app's developer calls the Memory API, and end users need no Harny account.
