Identity resolution

Identity resolution is recognizing that records about one person belong together. It links the emails, calls and chats that refer to the same individual.

What identity resolution is

Identity resolution matches records to the person they describe. A name, address or account id can point to one human across many sources.

Without it, one person's history splits into separate piles that an AI agent cannot connect.

Why it matters

  • Memory stays with one person instead of scattering across records.
  • Each person's history can be read or erased as one unit.
  • Matching errors can merge two people, so the rules need care.

How it works in Harny

  • Each request names the person: your app sends your own id in the X-Harny-User header, or a user key (fsk_) names its own user.
  • The developer decides the user id.

Who decides which records belong to one person?

In Harny, the developer decides the user id and sends it with each request.
