Memory API

Memory API is an HTTP interface an app calls to save facts about a person and to recall them later. Apps use it so their AI can answer with what it already knows about that user.

What Memory API is

A memory API is a set of web endpoints. The app sends text, a time, and a label to store it. Later, the app sends a query and gets back the stored items that match.

Each stored item is tied to one user, so one person's facts do not show up for another.

Why it matters

  • The AI does not need the whole history in each prompt.
  • Facts change over time, so the API needs a way to replace old values.
  • Recall has to respect time, so an answer can reflect what was true on a given date.

How it works in Harny

  • Harny's Memory API lives under /v1/memory. Your app calls POST /v1/memory/ingest to store facts and POST /v1/memory/recall to search them.
  • To remove data, call DELETE /v1/memory/data-points/{sourceId}. To check the month's count, call GET /v1/memory/usage.

Do end users need a Harny account?

No. The app's developer calls the Memory API on the app's behalf, and end users need no Harny account.

Go on. Get Harny.

The first 500 monthly-active end users are free for good. Create an app key and make your first call in minutes.
